Hear the Epic Debut Album From Rachika Nayar and Nina Keith’s Disiniblud Project Before Anyone Else

There’s nothing quite like taking in a great new album—loudly—on an incredible sound system alongside a bunch of fellow music lovers. On April 9 at the listening room Silence Please in downtown Manhattan, you will be able to do exactly that: Hearing Things and Domino’s Smugglers Way imprint are joining forces to present an exclusive first listen of Disiniblud, the self-titled debut from ecstatic experimentalists Rachika Nayar and Nina Keith’s new collaborative project. Even better, this event is free—just RSVP to reserve your spot before they’re gone.

A swirl of heavenly vocals, enormous beats, zippy synths, chiming guitars, and more, Disiniblud is as epic as a Sigur Rós opus and as intimate as a cherished childhood memory. Listen to the first single, “It’s Change,” to get an idea of the grand scope we’re talking about here:

In addition to an opportunity to hear the album in full more than three months before its official release on July 18, the event will feature a Q&A with Nayar and our very own Julianne Escobedo Shepherd, as well as a DJ set from Hearing Things’ resident vinyl spinner Andy Cush.

If you’re unfamiliar with Nayar and Keith’s previous work, this is an excellent excuse to catch up. Nayar is a producer, composer, and guitar shredder with an ear for soaring dramatics; her 2022 breakout Heaven Come Crashing is absolutely essential. Keith’s 2019 album Maranasati 19111 is filled with moving electroacoustic miniatures, and the composer also worked with singer-songwriter Julie Byrne on “Come Back Different,” from last year’s Transa compilation. In many ways, Disiniblud takes Nayar and Keith’s respective sounds and supersizes them to widescreen proportions.

Here’s everything you need to know about the listening session, see you there!
